Who We Are

A Community Rooted
in Service & Belonging

The Breton Sikh Association was founded to create a welcoming home where Sikh traditions meet the vibrant culture of Cape Breton. We believe that seva — selfless service — transcends all boundaries, and that together we can build a stronger, more inclusive community for everyone.

From langar events feeding hundreds across Cape Breton to youth mentorship programs empowering the next generation, we are guided by the timeless Sikh principles of equality, compassion, and honest living.

Sikh Heritage & Values

Rooted in the
Khalsa Spirit

The Khalsa — the community of initiated Sikhs — embodies justice, equality, and selfless service. At BSA, these values guide everything we do in Cape Breton.

The Khanda

Symbol of the Khalsa

The Khanda embodies the four pillars of Sikh sovereignty — spiritual power, temporal authority, the circle of community, and the double-edged sword of discernment.

Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Our Living Guide

The eternal Guru of the Sikhs — a scripture of universal wisdom, poetry, and love that guides every act of seva and every step toward justice and compassion.

Seva — Selfless Service

Serving with Open Hands

Seva is the heart of Sikh life — giving freely without expectation. From langar to storm relief, we serve Cape Breton the way our faith calls us to.

When Cape Breton Needed Us —
